Vegan Scents By Verdure Fragrances
Prachi Jhaveri, a lover of luxury brands and animals, founded Verdure Vegan Fragrances. She willingly departed from using products that have animal origins or indulge in animal-testing. Her passion and decisions led her on a journey with a virtuous purpose and, after tests and trials, she created the brand, Verdure: A line of vegan fragrances with a heart.
She lives by the quote “When action meets compassion, lives change!” She further internalised this quote more deeply in her life and into practice through her Spiritual Master Pujya Gurudevshri Rakeshbhai. Her values enkindled in spreading this way of life by designing a quality brand at par with international labels and altering the perspective of thousands along the way. She says: “Today, vegan fragrances stand powerful and impressive, in fact, they behold a strong suit with the addition of the love & purity they are made with.”
The name Verdure has its origins in the French language, and it means lush green! And Verdure is green, not just by glossary but green in its objective too.
The brand believes that beauty is timeless and classic, especially when it is green in every way. Verdure has a range of perfumes for men and women on their website. They also provide special customisation options for bulk gifting for weddings, parties, events, and more.
Their target audience is perfume lovers of all ages, be it vegan or non-vegan; anyone who uses perfumes. Additionally, it also appeals to the natural ‘organic ingredients’ lovers.
Their prices start from Rs 550 and go up to Rs 2,200. You can visit their Mumbai store or the vegan salon, Orrganic Elemennt in Pune. Shop the products on the website and get them shipped across the country.
Condiments by Native Tongue
Having spent 12 years in the media industry, Ruchira Sonalkar changed tracks to pursue her culinary passion. With Native Tongue, she and her husband and co-founder Rohan Sonalkar launched a condiments brand that is 100% Made in India and jars fresh recipes for everyday use or gifting purposes.
It wasn’t a planned decision but one that happened due to a chanced encounter with a friend who commissioned a baby announcement hamper. Having no formal education in culinary science, Ruchira decided to take a break and pursue a course from CFTRI Mysore in Food Technology. Armed with that knowledge, she formally launched the brand Native Tongue that is dedicated to exploring the wonders of the agricultural treasure-trove of India and weaves interesting flavours around it.
When she started her home business two years ago, she wished to bring back doses of nostalgia in the form of familiar flavours and aromas. At the same time, she wanted to draw attention to the wealth of produce that is unique to our country and specific to seasons. It was a labour of love truly — to be able to kickstart that dream from the home kitchen.
Native Tongue is about celebrating India’s indigenous produce, those that are tied to the terroir and changing seasons. The product range takes pride in unique flavours, which are fun twists on some old classics. It’s a small way to thank the farmers, and give them the spotlight they deserve.
The range covers dessert sauces, seasonal fruit preserves, cordials, savoury spreads and nut butters, and a few more are in the pipeline. The products are priced between Rs 275 to Rs 375 and are designed for consumption, cooking and baking with, for everyone across India. The products are available on their website.
