Yes, it was wedding bells again in B-town! After Farhan Akhtar-Shibani Dandekar’s wedding, it was time for Shahid Kapoor’s half-sister, Sanah Kapur to tie the knot with Mayank Pahwa, the son of accomplished actors, Manoj Pahwa and Seema Pahwa. Sanah is the daughter of Pankaj Kapur and Supriya Pathak.
The Kapurs and Pahwas have been family friends for long and, hence, Sanah and Mayank have known each other for several years. Having been engaged to each other in an intimate ceremony in the year 2017, they decided to enjoy wedded bliss and tied the knot on 2nd March 2022.
As the first pictures of Sanah’s wedding and pre-wedding shoots have surfaced on social media, here are a few snapshots for you to take a sneak peek into her bridal trousseau. Â
Wanna know a secret before mehendi ceremony? Here’s how to get dark mehendi colours.
The Wedding Look
Sanah looked every bit of a Princess in her morning wedding affair with a pristine blue ghagra and pallu, colour-blocked with a brown choli. What a unique combination, indeed. The pallu, lined with intricate embroidery, matched the spring morning sky. She stood out with her minimalistic jewellery that comprised a diamond set, laced with pearls, along with passa or side maang tikka. Her no-makeup look was an extension of her wedding attire and accessories. She must have managed to ruffle feathers with her wedding look sans the traditional, multi-layered wedding jewellery pieces. Overall, the hatke ensemble reminded us of Anushka Ranjan’s offbeat lilac wedding lehenga that was gorgeous and unconventional, all at the same time.
How You Can Get The Look
In one sentence, go minimalistic. Select your ghagra choli in contrast combinations to set the trend. Experiment with different fits and styles that suit your preferences and your body type. Accentuate your outfit with equally minimalistic jewellery—gold, pearls, or diamonds—anything that speaks to your personality. What’s more, you can even give silver jewellery a chance, if you wish to make a style statement with that bohemian look. And you’re good to rock your D-Day!
Pre-Wedding Ceremony: Kaleere Look
The kaleere ceremony on the 2nd of March morning was attended by close relatives and friends. The soon-to-be bride was seen decked up in a white salwar kameez and bright red dupatta. Going with minimalistic accessories yet again, she made her kaleere do all the talking.Â
How You Can Get The Look
Explore different styles of salwar kameez. You can even ditch the salwar kameez and go for a simplistic lehenga or asymmetrical gown if that’s your vibe. Pair with trinkets and let your kaleere be the main focus jewellery for the occasion.
Pre-Wedding Ceremony: Mehendi Look
The ethnic outfit was a happy blend of pink and yellow, with a yellow shrug that shined brightly like sunshine. Sanah’s chunky neckpiece and earring set perfectly complemented her dazzling smile. Yet again, she chose the no-makeup look, which appears to be her comfort zone.
How You Can Get The Look
Jacket shrug and collared shirt-style cholis are a big trend this wedding season. You can pair them with a lehenga, a crop top and an asymmetrical skirt, or even opt for a long jacket saree drape. Remember to keep the sleeve length and hemline Mehendi-friendly, so that you don’t spoil your outfit.
Your wedding trousseau should be true to your individual style and personality. Add a hint of your self and you will be ready to create moments on your special day.
